STREET KIDS OUTREACH NAKURU

It's a sad fact that there are hundreds of children living on the street in Nakuru city

Pastor Martha has had a burden to reach out to them with the Fathers love for a long time

She & her Daughters of Heavenly Favour team are about to launch an outreach initiative bringing that kive in the form of friendship, a listening ear, free porridge and an introduction to  church where, with children from the church they will play games, explore their creative gifts and learn about Jesus

A Daughters of Heavenly Favour Project

Pastor Neema and the DOHF ladies have started an outreach for children from the slum

Every Saturday the children gather in the church and ministry's compound where the ladies lead them in games, songs and learning about Jesus, the best friend they could have

The children also enjoy a free cup of porridge or a cool drink

In the first few weeks of launching they have seen a steady increase in the number of children attending which is very encouraging. The ladies want to reach as many as possibe to provide a weekly haven where the children feel safe, loved and can escape the hardships of slum living for a while

Many of these children are at risk of molestation. The teen pregnancy rate is very high here and most due to incest

The project also offers the ladies who were in our widows group a sense of purpose and provides tjem with activities which theu are really enjoying and fully committed to

BAKERY COOPERATIVE

The Daughters of Heavenly Favour Kibera have had a double oven built in the compound.

They will produce baked goods to sell with a view to becoming financially independent in running the children's project

The ladies are full of ideas for growing this micro business venture and all equally committed and working on it. The project also ensures they have something to eat
